United in Christ Ministries in partnership with the National Kidney Foundation will host a 16 week Diabetes Prevention Program for residents of the Black Hills and Roosevelt Parks beginning February 2017. Diabetes is a disorder that affects the way your body uses food for growth and energy. Nearly 25.8 million people in the United States have diabetes. Of those, 18.8 million are diagnosed and 7 million are undiagnosed. Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure, non-traumatic lower-limp amputation, and new cses of blindness among adults in the United States.
1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.”
Please contact Troy Williams at 616-855-8851, or visit http://www.nkfm.org if you are interested in signing up or would like more information. We must do our part to prevent the silent killer of diabetes in our families.
